The Bunker 42 was created in 1955 as a command post by the Strategic Nuclear Forces in Soviet Union.
It is recommneded to use the 54 meter deep stairwasy ( 290 steps and 12 floors ) to get a feel for this amazing bunker and the depth thereof. There are several different tours on offer, some are for younger children, whereas some are for adults only. The tour starts with an introduction about the Cold War. Thereafter your Guide will bring you to the bunkers exhibition hall where you will be informed about the purpose of the bunker plus details about the communication facilities thereof. The tours will make you realise how this bunker could protect from an Atomic explosion and you get a very good sense of the seriousity of the Nuclear Risk to the World.
In addition, the staff willl tell you how the staff working here operated inside the bunker and showcase the unique Architecture of this amazing facility.
