Seaplane hangars found at the museum were originally built as part of Peter the Great's naval fortress between 1916-1917. The seaplane hangars are the first reinforced concrete shell structures in the world. The Seaplane Harbour is a treasure trove of maritime history that contains incredible stories from above and below the water!
World's only surviving mine-laying submarine, Lembit, was lifted out of the water to become the center piece of the maritime museum. Lembit it's unique in its series and dates back to the 1930's.
Full size replica of the British seaplanes Short 184 is one of the most thrilling exhibits at the museum. This seaplane was the first seaplane in the history that conducted aerial torpedo attack. In addition you can try to navigate a real flight simulator!
Steam ship Suur Tõll is the biggest icebreaker in the world preserved through two world wars. All 3 original steam engines, as well as most of the original arrangement of space and late Jugendstil interior of the officers' rooms, were preserved. Explore the great steam ship as it was in its hayday almost a century ago!
The oldest wreck found in the Estonia, the Maasilinn ship can also be found in the museum. It was built around 1550, and is only the only found example of a ship built locally from the Middle Ages. The surviving part of the wreck was discovered by marine archaeologists in 1985.
