The Baltic region is filled with spectacular sights, clear, blue, inviting waters; vast and sensational skies and the splendid coastlines. There is no one who is not bewitched by the beauty of the landscapes in the Baltic. The fjords are extremely pleasing to visit and the islands are spellbinding too. All these look good when viewed from the land, but incredible when admired from the sea. Out of 28 ports that are present in this locale from where ships operate, five are exquisite. Here’s a list of them and what beautiful secrets they shield from us.
Helsinki Finland:
Most of the cruise ships’ destinations include Helsinki. This halcyon city delights us in ways more than one. A short ferry ride from the Market Square of this city takes us to the Soumenlinna Fortress, a marvel of the 18th century. Tourists and history enthusiasts can explore the monument on their own or with the help of guided tours.

Tallin, Estonia:
Tallin, the capital of Estonia is a small city which has portentous history dating back to over a thousand years. There are both modern and well-preserved ancient parts of the city, lined with resplendent homes, inviting cafes and gothic buildings. The tallest tower of Europe, the cathedral is located here, which can be climbed to view exotic locales of the city surrounding it.
Stockholm, Sweden:
The city is ornately carved and revels in its ancient glory. Housing the Royal Palace and the City Hall, the older section of this city is known as Gamla Stan. Interesting places to explore in Stockholm are galleries and the museums. A 15th century relic, a warship is housed in the Vasa museum, which is also a popular tourist attraction.
Copenhagen, Denmark:
This Danish city allures many a tourist to its magnificent port, the walking distance to which are located the Tivoli Gardens, ideal for families and romantic couples alike. 100,000 lanterns are lit here to create a beautiful and scenic ambience that includes a fireworks show. Canal taxis take one to the Nyhavn canal and also the Little Mermaid statue.
Saint Petersburg:
Art, architecture and aesthetics come together in this marvelous city. The Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum are two exciting places that one must not miss to visit. Saint Petersburg has many canals that provide serene boat rides during the midsummer White Nights celebrations.
