Festive Tallinn holidays

Estonia, and the country's capital Tallinn in particular, is a fantastic destination to visit during the Christmas period. Tallinn is beautiful at any time of the year but the city looks even more picturesque in December. The Christmas lights brighten up the small picturesque city and a light dusting of snow gives the city a wintry feel. Tallinn's preserved Old Town Square is a UNESCO World Heritage site and as you walk through the city's narrow, cobbled streets you will feel as if you have been transported back through time to Medieval Europe. Some of Tallinn's sights include the Old Town Square, Kadriorg Palace, Toompea Castle, Rocca al Mare Open-Air Museum and a whole host of beautiful churches and interesting museums.

Estonia is a wonderful place to visit, particularly during the Christmas period, and a trip to Tallinn can easily be combined with the two other Baltic states Latvia and Lithuania for a magical winter tour in this fascinating region of Europe.
