A cycling trip in Finland can be a huge amount of fun. The landscape in Finland is very varied with thousands of lakes and many square miles of forest. Due to the latitude, cycling in the summer may involve the Midnight Sun, when it will be light 24 hours a day. An eerie experience, but well worth it.
Finland has 72 marked cycle routes, including the Great Lakes Route and the Kings Road - no, not the one in Chelsea, this one runs to the Russian border. Only 6 maps are needed to cover all of Finland's cycle routes though the scale of the Finnish Lapland map is 1:400,000. Make sure you buy the cycling versions, not those that are called Tiekartta and only have roads marked. You should have a range of cycle wear to cope with the changing Finnish climate. A variety of accommodation is available from tents to luxury bed and breakfasts.
Whether you decide to combine your cycling trip with 'Island Hopping', where you can feel the excitement of literally "jumping" from island to island, or you choose to cycle in the countryside and visit the small towns on your way with Finnish delicacies en route, Finnish people are in general very friendly and helpful, and, thankfully, the majority speak good English.
We know Finland and we will take your there.
