Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort
Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort was founded in 1973 by Jussi who went fishing in Kakslauttanen, a small fishing village at the time. Jussi ran out of petrol and suddenly stood in the middle of the wilderness - Jussi here felt he had found his home and he settled there, first with a cafe, later and little by little, Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort with Glass Igloo's have become Finland's internationally best-known travel business - still being run by Jussi, with great care and attention.
Kakslauttanen is a family hotel in Finnish Lapland, 250 km ( appx. 150 miles ) north of the Arctic Circle, and despite the distance, easy to reach via Ivalo Airport, 30 minutes away. It is also close to Northern Norway and Murmansk in Russia.
