Torassieppi Reindeer Farm
Since 1847, the Torassieppi Reindeer Farm has been run by the same family. The Lapinkartano Manor is the main building of the Reindeer Farm with adjacent buildings and grounds. The farm has had reindeers for over a century and in earlier days, reindeer sleigh convoys would stop at the Reindeer Farm enroute from Muonio to Pallastunturi. At the museum you can getacquainted with the history of the farm and the people who have lived there. At the farm, reindeer are living in vast fenced areas where they are fed and welcoming guests at the farm who come for the reindeer safaris and to enjoy the gift of Mother Nature in this sparsely populated area. The farm is not used for meat production.
At the Reindeer Farm there are 8 cabins and 8 rooms all together. This guarantees you that you will not experience an over-crowded mass-tourism centre for your holiday accommodation. Overall, the village can accommodate approx. 40 guests at a time.
The restaurant can seat up to 40 people and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There is a wide choice of sandwiches and refreshments throughout the day. The restaurant specialises in organic and locally produce to ensure the highest quality of food and with the least impact on the environment when sourcing their ingredients.
