New Year Breaks Estonia

Christmas Market on Town Hall Square by Toomas Volmer/Estonia Tourism Board

Estonia is a wonderful destination to visit during the Christmas and New Year period. The country's capital Tallinn is beautiful at any time of the year but the city is particularly picturesque at the end of December, illuminated by Christmas decorations and dusted by a thin blanket of snow. Tallinn's Medieval Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and as you walk through the city's narrow, cobbled streets you will feel as if you have been transported back through time to the Middle Ages. What's more, the city's famous Christmas Markets stay open until early January so you will have the chance to stock up on all your presents for next year.

Tallinn is home to a number of 4 and 5 star hotels so you can welcome in the New Year in style. If you want to escape from the city, you can also spend the New Year in one of the many manor houses and boutique hotels dotted throughout the country and if you want to relax, you can visit one of the Estonia's spa resorts located on the stunning Estonian coast.

Estonia is a wonderful place to visit, particularly during the New Year, and a trip to Tallinn can easily be combined with the two other Baltic states Latvia and Lithuania for an unforgettable tour to experience the fascinating and diverse cultures of the Baltic region.
