Tour Itinerary:
Day 1. Arrival
Arrival in Sofia Airport and transfer to your hotel. Free day to explore the Bulgarian Capital on your own.
Overnight in a centrally located hotel.
Day 2. Sofia - Veliko Tarnovo
Breakfast. Free time in the morning.
We meet at the Metropolitan Hotel Sofia and enjoy lunch before the transfer to Veliko Tarnovo. Enjoy a private walking tour of the old city. We will partly cross the mountain range Balkan Mountains or Stara Planina in Bulgarian. The whole mountain range starts in Serbia (West Balkan Mountains) and ends close to the Black Sea.

Day 3. Veliko Tarnovo
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today we visit the Tsarevets Royal Hill and Fortress which was built in the 12th and 13th Century. Afterwards you will have the chance to explore Veliko Tarnovo on your own, discover the narrow roads of this old city.
Later we will visit the Transfiguration Monastery Preobrazhenski. The Transfiguration Monastery, also known as Preobrazhenski Monastery, is a prominent religious site located in Bulgaria. Situated in the Rila Mountains, near the town of Samokov, it holds great significance in the country's cultural and spiritual heritage. The Transfiguration Monastery has a long history, dating back to the 14th century. It has undergone numerous renovations and expansions throughout the centuries, resulting in its current architectural style that combines elements of the Bulgarian Renaissance and Byzantine traditions.
We will also head to see the Nicopolis Ad Itrum Ruins, an archaeological site located near Veliko Tarnovo. The ruins represent the remnants of an ancient Roman city known as Nicopolis ad Istrum, which was founded in the 2nd century AD.
We then head to discover the Hotnishki Waterfall – a short drive and walk to the falls will definitely be worth the mesmerising view.
We return around 18.30/19.00 in Veliko Tarnovo and the evening will be yours.

Day 4. Estara - Shipka Pass - Bezludzha - Rose Museum - Plovidiv
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today we will begin with a visit to Etara open-air Museum Village with focus on Renaissance. We then head on a spectacular drive to Shipka Pass & Monument, with fantastic views, and an important memorial from the Ottomans war.
Afterwards we will make our way to the Buzludzha Communist Monument; an abandoned and iconicstructure located in the Central Balkan Mountains of Bulgaria. We will head to Kazanlak, known as the “Valley of Roses” and visit the the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 5. Bachkovo Monastery & Falls - Assen's Fortress
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will begin today with a guided tour of the Bachkovo Monastery, founded in 1083, it is one of the oldest Eastern Orthodox monasteries in the country and holds great historical and spiritual importance. We will then head on a 20-minute walk to the Bachkovo Falls.
Later, we head on a guided tour to Assen’s Fortress, it is situated on a rocky ridge overlooking the Asenitsa River and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
Drive back to Plovdiv, enjoy this vibrant city by taking an evening walk to explore it.

Day 6. Plovdiv & Wine Tasting Experience
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free time until 13.00 to discover Plovdiv on your own.
Today we will visit the Zagreus Winery for a guided tour including wine tasting and lunch.
The rest of the day you can spend relaxing in the charming city of Plovdiv.

Day 7. Sofia
Breakfast at the hotel.
Arrival in Sofia and we head on a walking tour of the city centre. We visit the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, The Russian Church Sveti Nikolay Mirlikiiski, Church St. George Rotunda and the National Theatre. If time we will also visit “Women’s Market” (Zhenski Pazar) and Central Market (food) Hall (Tsentralni Hali).

Day 8. Boyana Falls & Mount Vitosha
Breakfast at the hotel.
We make our way to the Boyana Waterfalls for a 4 – 5 hour scenic walk. Afterwards we visit the Boyana Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site from the 10th Century.
Afterwards we visit the Vitosha Mountains, we drive to the top and look out for incredible views of Sofia City.
We head back to Sofia and enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 9. Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
