Set sail from Scotland to the coast of Norway and the remote shores of Svalbard on this dazzling 15-day odyssey along the fjord coastline of Norway. Explore the glaciers that carved the stunning landscapes, visit subarctic islands by Zodiac in search of wildlife, walk through history at UNESCO-protected historical sites, and much more. Don’t merely pine for the fjords; find them.
Expedition price is from £7,695 per person based on availability and 2 persons sharing a Category 3 Twin Cabin throughout. Triple and Quad cabins are also availble at a lower cost as well as single share option, plese ask us.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Edinburgh/Kirkwall (Dinner)
The expedition departs in the afternoon. If you require a flight or train to get to Edinburgh, please let us know and we'll arrange that for you.
Day 2: Kirkwall/Orkney (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Visit the historical sites by coach. Orkeny is famous for its great marine and bird life. You can also admire the dramatic scenery from the coast.
Day 3: Shetland Islands (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Cruise towards the north to the Shetland Islands. You can choose to visit Jarlshof or join the Puffin Bus. The Shetland Islands offers a great mix of Scotland and Scandinavia.
Day 4: Ålesund (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Cross the North Sea to Norway. YOu will have the chance to explore the cutest town in Oslo, Ålesund. You can also decide to climb over 400 steps to get the best view of the city from Fjellstua.
Day 5: Åndalsnes (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Have the full day to explore Åndalsnes. Board the Rauma Railway and go through the dramatic mountain scenenery of Romsdalen mountains.
Day 6: Trondheim (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Continue on to Trondheim. Choose between hiking to the Sverresborg Folk Museum or enjoying a city tour including the Folk Museum and the elaborate Nidaros Cathedral, built between 1070 and 1300. Opt to explore the area on your own, perhaps visiting Munkholmen.
Day 7: Torghatten & Vega (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
The rugged coastline of central Norway features some of the world’s most beautiful scenery. The captain will negotiate with local Norwegian pilots to determine our best Zodiac landing options. Hike up to the famous hole in the mountain, with fantastic views of the region. Keep an eye out for Norway's mythical trolls. In the afternoon, head to the quaint and picturesque Vega Island, a UNESCO site. Wander the fishing villages and appreciate the slow pace of life.
Day 8: Svartisen, Sanna & Vikingen (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Visit Svartisen, Sanna, and Vikingen, to see beautiful glaciers and a globe sculpture which marks Vikingen as a point directly on the Arctic Circle.
Day 9: Lofoten Islands (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
The Lofoten archipelago is an enchanting area of picturesque villages by the sea backed with jagged peaks. Go ashore by Zodiac to the village of Å. Visit Nusfjord, one of Norway's oldest and best-preserved fishing villages for lunch at a local restaurant. Cruise into one of Norway's most famous fjords, the short yet dramatic Trollfjord. Search the cliffs on the continuing quest to spot trolls.
Day 10: Tromso (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Tromsø, the capital of northern Norway, is known as the "Gateway to the Arctic" as it was the embarkation point for many Arctic expeditions. Learn about past Arctic expeditions and opt for some hiking or to explore the city on your own.
Day 11: At Sea & Bjornoya (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Sail past mist-shrouded Bjørnøya (Bear Island) – a birdwatcher's paradise featuring spectacular views.
Day 12: Hornsund (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Explore this archipelago of deep fjords, mountains and massive ice sheets. Keep your eyes open for walruses, seals, reindeer, Arctic foxes and, of course, polar bears.
Day 13: Svalbard (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Soak in the sights and sounds of Svalbard. Glaciers, nesting birds, sea mammals like polar bears, walruses and whales plus land mammals like the Arctic fox and reindeer all call this region home.
Day 14: Svalbard/ & Longyearbyen (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Continue exploring the icy wonderland of Svalbard.
Day 15: Longyearbyen (Breakfast)
Disembark the expedition ship in the morning, transfer to the hotel and a day to explore Longyearbyen. Accommodation in a Svalbard Hotell or similar.
Day 16: Departure from Longyearbyen (Breakfast)
Morning at leisure. Transfer by shuttlebus to Longyearbyen Airport for your return flight. You can also extend your stay in Spitsberg to have more time to explore this vast wilderness.
The Team:
A carefully chosen team will lead our voyage. The expedition team boasts an international team of professional naturalists and lecturers. Their goal is to provide an informed and balanced interpretation of the destination, accomplished through stimulating lectures, day-to-day briefings, and informal discussions. Your lecturers and Expedition Leader will cover all aspects of the voyage including ornithology, marine biology, geography, geology, history and the environment, as well as practical things like photography. The expedition staff work conscientiously with you on deck and in the field, improving your observational skills to allow you to experience all that the destination has to offer. Their strong sense of ethics and ecological knowledge make for stimulating and mindful conversation whether onshore or at the dinner table. The expedition staff will are experienced drivers who will pilot the Zodiac landing crafts used for shore landings and Zodiac cruises in a responsible manner consistent with our safety standards on board.
