Overview:

Venture to the far North of Finnish Lapland and enjoy this mid-season Northern Lights programme filled with the autumnal colours of nature. You will enjoy a guided hike, lunch made over an open fire and an overnight stay in the world famous Aurora cabin. During your holiday, you will gain an in-depth knowledge of the indigenous Sami people of the North and the beautiful nature of the Lappish region. Spend time enjoying the quietness of the Lappish autumn filled wtih the excitement of scouting for the magical Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.

Holiday price is from £ 1,315 per person based on availability and 2 persons sharing accommodation throughout.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Welcome to Finnish Lapland

Arrive at Ivalo airport and transfer to our Wilderness Hotel, approximately 45 minutes away. Enjoy a welcome dinner and accommodation in our cosy, rustic hotel rooms. Upon your arrival, you will be shown the best places to spot the Northern Lights in the hotel surroundings.

Day 2: Best of Lapland & Aurora Hunting

After breakfast, we start today's activities. This day is all about the outdoors and sightseeing. We will visit the best scenic spots for sightseeing and photographing and enjoy the Lappish nature and scenery. We will have a picnic lunch during the day by an open fire. After the trip, you will have a Aurora Borealis briefing and our professional aurora hunter guides will help you to set your cameras ready for the possible Northern Lights show. After the briefing, tuck into a delicious evening dinner. Following dinner, we will go for an Aurora Hunt and hope that we are blessed with the dancing Northern Lights illuminating the wilderness sky.

Day 3: Hiking Day & Aurora Accommodation 

After breakfast, it’s time for a relaxing walk in the endless forests. In Autumn, nature is full of beautiful colours and curious animals. Your guide will tell you interesting facts about Finnish nature and if you have a bit of luck with you, maybe you’ll see some reindeer. We will have lunch by an open fire during the trip.

Aurora Accommodation: We have saved the best for last. You will experience the beauty of the Polar Night sky from inside our cosy and warm Aurora accommodation. Our Aurora Cabins are especially designed for viewing the night sky and the amazing Northern Lights.

Day 4: Farewell Finnish Lapland

It’s time to say goodbye to the Wilderness Hotel and head towards new adventures. Breakfast and your airport transfer are included.

Wilderness Hotel Muotka

Muotka Wilderness Hotel has 22 cozy double/twin rooms. There are 12 twin rooms in mainbuilding and 11 double rooms in the second building. All rooms are decorated with inspiration from nature and the natural surroundings of the area.

Wilderness Hotel Nangu

Ivalo, Finland - 3 stars

Nangu Wilderness Hotel is located on the southern shore of Lake Inari, with a breath-taking open lakeview as far as the eye can see opening right from the hotel yard – perfect for experiencing the northern lights and midnight sun alike!
