Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Welcome to Finnish Lapland
Transfer by airport taxi to your hotel. Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort has East and West Village with comfortable Glass Igloo's, all with private facilities and normal room temperature around 20 degree Celcius/68 Fahrenheit. On one night of your stay can be spent in a traditional snow igloo on their grounds on request. The Inside temperature in the snow igloo stays around -5 C). Soft and warm reindeer skins, thick sleeping bag and hot juice ensure a warm and comfortable night. The Igloos have several separate bedrooms, each with a double bed. You can also choose to stay in a Wooden Log Cabin, that offers kitchenette, shower, private facilities, sauna, open fireplace, double bed and warm atmosphere. The cabins are offered in different sizes and we have for example the Queen's Log Cabin. Please enquire.
Day 2-4: Arctic Adventures & Northern Lights
Breakfast at your hotel. Kakslauttanen offers a vast range of activities from Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoe Trekking, Dog Sledging, Northern Lights Chase, Reindeer and Snowmobile Safaris. See the separate list of daily activities below so you can choose either in advance or on the spot and relaxation to reenergise for the outside world. We have included:
Snowmobile Safari:
Rates include the necessary equipment (thermo-overall, mittens, socks, boots, hat, helmet) and insurance for the snowmobile. Please notice that the driver of the snowmobile is held liable for damages caused to the vehicle and the self-risk amount is max.driver/snowmobile/accident case. The driver of the snowmobile must be at least 15 years of age with a valid driving licence. For children under 15 years we recommend only 2 – 4 hour snowmobile safaris. Children sit in a sled behind guides snowmobile.
Husky Safari:
All husky safari rates include the necessary equipment (thermo-overall, mittens, socks, boots, hat). Children over 12 years can usually drive a husky team themselves but this depends completely on the size of the child. We keep the right to decide the arrangements for children according to the weather conditions and size of the child. Children between 5– 12 years of age sit in the guide’s sledge during safaris. We recommend only short husky safaris for small children.
Day 5: Farewell Finnish Lapland
Breakfast at your hotel. Check-out from your hotel in time for your transfer to the airport for your return flight from Ivalo.
Your holiday can be tailored to eventually spend time in Helsinki as well and more of less time in Lapland.
