Things To Do In Nida
One of the most popular things to do in Nida is to rent a bicycle and spend the day visiting various tourist attractions and scenic spots in the town. The bicycle track till Juodkrante includes stops at Pervalka and Preila on the way. One can also visit the Curonian Lagoon and ride through the pine forest and reach the sea. The Dead Dunes and the Vecekrugas Dune are also along the same path.

The town has developed as a popular tourist destination in recent years, with as many as 300,000 people visiting every summer. Made up of 3 small settlements, the town is the summer destination of people from all over the world, especially Germany. During the two World Wars the town suffered various damages but it was re-constructed by the soviets in 1953. In 1961, Nida was made an administrative center of the city Neringa by the Supreme Council of Soviet Lithuania.
The town has developed as an upscale holiday resort destination with hundreds and thousands of visitors from Lithuania, Russia, Germany and Latvia, along with other parts of the world, visiting the town each year. An emphasis on family holidays and a variety of entertainment options has made Nida a great holiday spot.

The Parnidis Dune with the Sun Clock is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the town. On top of this 52m high dune one can observe both the rising sun and the sun setting into the sea water.
The Fisherman’s Ethnographic Museum is a popular attraction, giving visitors a chance to observe the ancient fisherman way of life. The Ethnographical Cemetry at the Lutheran Church is another popular spot, with its ancient wooden tombs and unique tomb forms.
