Denmark has many attractions including its vibrant capital, Copenhagen, great gourmet restaurants; cutting edge design and really happy, friendly, English-speaking people. Combine this with beautiful scenery and wonderful fishing and this is an angler's dream holiday, right on your doorstep in Europe.
Denmark is rated as one of the top coarse fishing destinations in Europe with good fishing between mid-May and late September and roach catches continuing into October. Bream is plentiful in the lakes at Skanderborg and Silkeborg and there are plenty of trout lakes.
Deep sea fishing is also on offer with Denmark possessing a long coastline and access to the North Sea, the Skaggerat, the Kattegat and the Baltic Sea. Expect to catch cod, herring, garfish and flatfish. The Limfjord and Mariager Fjord have good shore fishing for sea trout and garfish, while the many estuaries can present opportunities for steelhead and brown trout. The small rivers of Ry,Voer, Lerkenhead, Skals and Simestad hold sea trout.
Bornholm Island in the Baltic Sea is renowned for its large salmon and gives chances of coastal fishing for sea trout. The island offers excellent opportunities to catch pike, bass, tench, eel and carp.
