Finland is a large, sparsely populated country that features barren Arctic landscapes in the North, thousands of tiny islands in the South, vast, unspoiled forests, crystal clear lakes in between – there are roughly 187,000 of them – and one of Europe's most fashionable capitals in Helsinki, Finland holidays are both breathtaking and precious.

What to do in Finland

During your holiday in Finland, you may stay in a Glass Igloo or Aurora Bubble, under the Night Sky and you will be able to see the Northern Lights from your own personal igloo with all modern comforts.

Or try the world famous Ice Hotel: Finland has it all. Finland's Northern Lights, surrounded by vast forests of trees, truly capture the wonder of the Far North. The combination of snow around you, the Finland Northern Lights, the atmosphere of Finland Christmas holidays or New Year holidays in Finland guarantee an outstanding experience.

Why Visit Finland?

There is a lot of mystery as well as many attractions in the Finnish Arctic, such as the Northern Lights and every child’s dream to meet Father Christmas. Days are spent enjoying the frosty climate, while evenings are for soothing saunas and crackling fires and looking out for the Aurora Borealis. The concept of the iconic Northern Lights Igloo is a relatively new phenomenon but works beautifully making it the perfect destination for tourists chasing wildlife holidays.

When Is the Best Time to Visit Finland?

Finland is a country for all seasons, and the best time to visit Finland depends on the regions you are looking to travel to. Aurora borealis and snow mostly occur in Northern and Eastern Finland between December and April. The long summer months run between June and late August, with Midnight Suns appearing in June. This will provide a fantastic time to travel to Helsinki and Lakeland for Finland's fly-driving holidays.

Finland is one of the most underrated holiday destinations in Europe, but that is precisely what makes it an attractive destination for backpacking and hiking experiences, since you will be bathing in its spectacular nature while avoiding the crowds. September 2012
Overall rating: (5/5)

Hi Daina,

we have returned home after a truly wonderful tour. We want to thank you once again for all of your care and attention which resulted in us having a great time. It was a small group and surprisingly there were two other australian couples who had booked with you. The guides we had with Baltic vision were first class and the accommodation very good indeed. As it happened we were the only people left on the group going on to moscow from st petersburg so we had hands on care. We were able to spend our last day in London amid the buzz off the para games and managed a ride on the london eye.

Thank you once again, John & Sue
