You'll find, that during summer, there is a very special light and more hours of sunshine here than the rest of Denmark. In North Jutland you will be surrounded by sea, fjord, inlets, lakes and straits which offers you a wide variety of outdoor activities such as sailing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, Stand Up Paddeling, surfing, wind surfing and fishing.

Holiday price is from £ 695 per person based on availability and two persons sharing a double/twin room incl. breakfast daily.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Welcome to Denmark

Arrival in Aalborg Airport and pick up your rental car (B-class Ford Fiesta or similar) and make your way to Aalborg for your 3 nights' short breal.

Overnight at Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg 4* or similar incl. breakfast buffet daily.

Day 2-3: Days in Nature or the City

Enjoy the next 2 days exploring the many natural experiences awaiting with 1 hours drive from Aalborg. North Jutland is Denmark's most dynamic natural area, and offers many wonderful natural playgrounds to explore:

Where two seas meet: Stand in two different seas at Grenen, Denmark’s most northerly point or visit Råbjerg Mile, Denmark's largest shifting sand dune, which is slowly moving from west to the east.

Coastal Cliffs: At Rubjerg Knude and Bulbjerg on the West Coast, enormous cliffs rise from the sea. In the middle of the country, you’ll find the undulating landscape of Jyske Ås. Near Hanstholm you can wander in the unique dune heathland of Thy, Denmark's first national park.

The Limfjord: North Jutland is traversed by the Limfjord with its many sounds, inlets and shallow enclosed waters. You can get to Limfjord's islands from the mainland by bridge and small ferry.

Denmark's largest forest: South of Limfjord, the scenery is characterized by forest and heath, including Rold Forest (Rold Skov), Denmark’s largest forest, and the imposing Rebild Hills (Rebild Bakker). The limestone bedrock is close to the surface in the region and there are a number of quarries and mines in the area. Tingbæk Limestone Mines are now a museum which you can visit.

Roaming wild boar: Towards Kattegat, the protected area of The little Moor (Lille Vildmose) offers you beautiful nature, a rich bird life and the potential to spot wild boars roaming.

Alternatively you can choose to spend the days in Aalborg. Aalborg is bursting with cultural attractions and events, whether you're into music, theatre or art. Domestic as well as international artists regularly hold gigs or exhibitions throughout the city and Aalborg is also home to a flourishing underground art scene.

Art and architecture: Aalborg is an art lover's haven with countless galleries, museums and architectural gems. A trip to Aalborg should include a visit to the Utzon Center (the last masterpiece to be designed by the late architect Jørn Utzon), the KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art, Kunsthal Nord as well as handicraft galleries such as Lange Kunsthåndværk.

Aalborg's new waterfront: Aalborg's waterfront has recently undergone a major facelift, turning what was once an industrial area into a cultural hub for architecture, gastronomy and cosmopolitan living.

Overnight at Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg 4* or similar incl. breakfast buffet daily.

Transportation

Railway mostly serves domestic routes and is used as an easy and quick way to get from the capital to major cities of the country. There are some international routes, like to Moscow and St. Petersburg, but time spent on the way will be quite long.

Buses are one of the most convenient ways to travel between the Baltic States. Eurolines will get you between Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn. One way tickets will cost £ 15 - £ 20 and approximate travel time is 5 hours between the cities. Ticket reservations in advance are recommended.

Taxis are the quickest and most convenient way of travelling round the city. You'll find them located close to the main hotels. Usually it's quite easy to catch a taxi on the street, however, it's much better and safer to order one by phone. Taxi costs in all of the Baltic countries and Poland are approximately the same and a ride in the centre of the city will cost you approx £ 5 - £ 7.  Taxis in Finland and Russia are considerably more expensive.  It is always a good idea to get your hotel to book a taxi for you and ask approximately how much the trip will cost before you get in.

We would not recommend you to take public transportation within the city, as it's usually crowded and it may cause you unnecessary anxiety about where to stop.

Car Rental

You can rent a car, as long as you have a valid EU or international driver's license. Most cars will have manual transmission.
