City break or country tour: we have it all and Sweden can give you the best of both worlds. Whether it's just Stockholm or a wider exploration of this country, let us tailor make your Swedish spring journey.
Sweden is three and a half times the size of England and has just over 10,000,000 people, so there are plenty of wide open spaces for the discerning traveller to enjoy. A constitutional monarchy, the Kingdom of Sweden emerged during the 12th and 13th Centuries and was once one of the major powers of Europe, encompassing Finland, large parts of modern day Norway and outposts in Germany.
Stockholm, with a population of close to 1,000,000, sits on 14 islands in an archipelago on the Baltic Sea. With 50 bridges, Stockholm can rightly be called the Venice of the North, though its architecture is in better condition and it is less afflicted with cruise ships. Its concert halls and opera houses are famous throughout the world. Its Metro system is known as the longest art gallery in the world, due to its colourful decoration.
Spring officially starts on tne 16th March, but the flowers really burst into bloom in April, as pavement cafes fill up with Swedes celebrating the end of winter. This is a great time to enjoy Stockholm's parks when the city is still quiet.
But don't ignore Swedish cities like Gothenburg, serving great fresh sea food; Malmo with parks and museums and Lund, still showing its Viking roots. Or wrap up warm and head north to the Sarek National Park in Swedish Lapland, home to one hundred glaciers and two hundred mountains over 1,800 metres..
We know Sweden and we will take you there.
